In this documentary, the director Bianca Zylla travels to Transylvania, Romania with her mother, who grew up under Ceaușescu's dictatorship and migrated to Germany in 1989. The film explores the protagonist's life as a Transylvanian-Saxon, part of a German minority in Romania. Together, the mother-daughter-duo visit significant places, such as the protagonist's childhood home or the site of the Romanian revolution in Brașov. The documentary examines the concept belonging and the meaning of home.
I had the pleasure of supporting the documentary film project as a DP. It was an exciting and enriching experience to be able to accompany Bianca and her mother through Transylvania.
