I had the privilege of working with Bayer 04 Media House to produce the documentary “Fiérte Burkinabè” as co-director, director of photography and editor (in joint responsibility).
The 45-minute documentary follows Edmond Tapsoba from Ouagadougou to Leverkusen and back to his homeland, Burkina Faso. It traces his journey from youth football in Africa via Portugal to the Bundesliga and offers personal insights through conversations with his family, his first coach and other companions along the way.
The focus is on his connection to Burkina Faso and the work of his “Fondation Edmond Tapsoba”, which campaigns for better educational, nutritional and health opportunities for children and women. The production portrays Tapsoba as an athlete – but above all as a person and a role model.
It was a wonderful experience and I am grateful to have been part of this project.
